Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Khan, has strongly condemned the incident involving fast bowler Haris Rauf in the USA.

In a statement released on the social relations website ‘X’,Chairman PCB Mohsin Khan stated, “Strongly condemn the appalling incident involving Haris Rauf. Such actions against our players are completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Those who are involved should immediately apologise to Haris Rauf, failing which we will pursue legal action against the individual responsible.”

Chairman PCB further added that the individual involved in the incident must immediately apologise to Haris Rauf, otherwise legal action will be taken against him.

The incident involving Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf went viral when a video surfaced of him in an altercation with a fan in Florida.

According to reports, the fan had requested a selfie with Haris Rauf, who was accomanied by his wife at that time, and also criticized the fast bowler, which led to cricketer becoming angry.

People present at the scene intervened to defuse the situation between Haris Rauf and the person arguing with him.

Reacting to the incident Haris Rauf later in a post published on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) said, “I decided not  to bring this on social mediam, but now that the video is out, I feel it is necessary to address the situation. As public figurers, we are open to receiveing all kinds of feedback from the piublic. They are entitled to support or criticize us. Neverthless, when it comes to my parent and my family, I will not hesitate to respond accordingly. It is important to show respect towards people and their families, irrespective of their professions.”

 

Fellow teammate Shaheen Shah Afridi also took to social media coming in defence of Rauf. He said, “It is absolutely disgraceful how Haris Rauf was treated. No one has the right to belittle and disrespect another person. I’m also shocked by those who have shared this video. Why prioritize a few likes over our humanity? Stay strong, Haris. We stand united with you.”
